Do you love seafood? I like some. I’m allergic to shrimp and I don’t eat crab or lobster for fear of my shrimp allergy translating across to other shellfish. But I do like fish - especially salmon. I LOOOOVE a good grilled salmon - all kind of buttery with crispy bits on the edges. Yum.

Do you love trying cook off recipes? The Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board (LSPMB) and NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association) presented the Fifth Annual Great American Seafood cook off Aug 2-3 in New Orleans and their website presents the five finalists. It’s hard for me to be sure about what my favorite is, since at least 3 of them have shrimp. But, thankfully, Colorado Chef Paul Anders created a recipe for Colorado Striped Bass Panzenella. It’s got fresh tomatoes & cucumbers, mint, basil, olives, ciabatta bread, and eggplant. It sounds so fresh - really like just out of the water fish with all these delicious fresh vegetables and herbs. I adore fresh basil and mint and it sounds like the combination would be delicious with the fish.

He does this wonderful crispy eggplant base and then tops that with a fresh herb yogurt. On top of that is panzenella that is made by toasting ciabatta bread with some olive oil in a pan and then mixing with the very ripest veggies & herbs to make a type of salad. This would work great with the fresh mint & basil I have growing in my herb pot!

Place the gently pan-fried bass on top and drizzle with balsamic vinegar and it’s done. This is simply the perfect summer meal. No real preservatives and everything used is fresh, natural and sustainable. If you live near a place where you can get fresh domestic-caught fish of any kind, what a wonderful, healthy choice for your family meal! Can you imagine catching your own bass in the morning and serving this meal with veggies and herbs from your own garden that evening? How cool would that be?

The very sight of lake Toxaway attracts the viewers with surprise because this lake is an artificial lake constructed by mankind.Lake Toxaway is the largest privately held lake in North Carolina. The lake is man-made and covers 640 acres. It is fed by natural streams, reaches depths of 60 feet, and the shoreline is 14 miles. The lake flows out onto Toxaway Falls and then continues down the Toxaway River.
The lake was filled originally in 1902 by E. H. Jennings, who visited what is now Lake Toxaway in the 1890's and saw that the area held great potential. After the touch-screen phone debuted last June 29, Apple sold more than 6 million before running out in May. Devotees like Wilson and new converts may help Jobs sell 10 million this year, giving Apple 1 percent of the global market. STRUGGLE FOR USB 3.0

USB's evolution has hit our doorsteps.Starting from a mp4 watch to a printer including a mobile phone is using USB's technology to provide a userfriendly service for the customers.Even though the USB 3.0 standard, with transmission speeds nearing 5Gbit/s (600MB/s), has not yet matured and is not expected until 2009 or 2010, technology leaders Intel, AMD, and nVidia are battling to take the lead on the USB 3.0 specifications.
The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) was founded in 1995 by Intel, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Texas Instruments, NEC, and NXP Semiconductors. These companies are also promoting the new standard of USB 3.0.
But AMD, nVidia, and VIA Technologies have jointly made an attempt to develop another "USB 3.0" standard to compete with Intel. The opportunity arose because Intel has yet to release their standard for USB 3.0.
"If the USB 3.0 have two different standards in the future, the consumer will be the greatest loser in this 'standard' battle. As of this issue, we [the Federal Trade Commission] decided to investigate Intel on monopolizing the specification of USB 3.0 and hope this conflict can be smoothly solved." said the Federal Trade Commission in a statement.
Nick Knupffer, a spokesperson for Intel, claimed that Intel will release related technical specifications on USB 3.0 for the Information Technology industry to prevent unnecessary conflicts on standards and specifications.

We have read about many articles regarding the researchs done by the astranauts on mars.The scientists behind the Mars Phoenix Lander project announced that the soil on Mars was more alkaline than expected and could sustain life. This finding has surprised many people and has become a great boon to Nasa's data base.
Scientists at NASA or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration claimed that they were "flabbergasted" by their discovery on the possibility that life could grow on Martian soil.

"It is the type of soil you would probably have in your back yard, you know, alkaline. You might be able to grow asparagus in it really well. ... It is very exciting for us," said Sam Kounaves, the lead wet chemist at NASA.
The project did not elaborate any further if there was indeed life on Mars, down to the microbe level and instead stated that their discovery was only preliminary and more analysis will be needed.
There was still no evidence in the soil that "would preclude life," and instead of an assumption of a toxic environment, Martian soil is actually, "very friendly."
The discovery was made after the Mars Phoenix Lander scooped up Martian soil for analysis. The lander touched down on Mars on May 25, 2008 and has been conducting several survey projects.

Here’s to another sci-fi movie. The latest on the block is filmmaker Harry Baweja’s Love Story 2050, which stars Debutant Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra. Viswanathan Anand (விசுவநாதன் ஆனந்த்) (born December 11, 1969) is an Indian chess grandmaster and the current World Chess Champion. Anand is one of four players in history to break the 2800 mark on the FIDE rating list and he has been among the top three ranked players in the world continuously since 1997.
In the April 2007 FIDE Elo rating list, Anand was ranked first in the world for the first timeand he retained the number one spot in the July 2007 list with a rating of 2792, a lead of 23 points. On the current April 2008 list he has an Elo rating of 2803, which makes him number one in the world .He is the sixth person to head the rating list since its inception in 1970; the other five being Fischer, Karpov, Kasparov, Kramnik and Topalov. Anand became the undisputed World Chess Champion on September 29, 2007, after winning the 2007 World Chess Championship Tournament held in Mexico City Anand finished the tournament with a score of 9/14 (+4=10-0).
In 2007 he was awarded the second highest civilian award of India, the Padma Vibhushan.

The Indian Premier League, created by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and sanctioned by the International Cricket Council, is a Twenty20 cricket competition.

Each team will play the other 7 teams home and away, the top four teams at the end of the group stages will proceed through to the semi finals.

On January 14th, 2008, it was announced that a consortium consisting of India's Sony Television network and Singapore-based World Sport Group secured the rights of the Indian Premier League.^[1] The record deal has a duration of ten years at a cost of US$1,026 million. As part of the deal, the consortium will pay the BCCI US$918 million for the telecast rights and US$108 million for the promotion of the tournament.^[2]

The BCCI announced that the bulk of the proceeds from this deal would initially go to the IPL franchises themselves, gradually reducing this amount over the life of the contract.

Network Ten has bought the rights to show every game live in Australia on free-to-air television for the next five years at a cost of AU$10 - $15 million.^[3]

Setanta Sports have secured the UK rights in a 5-year deal. All 59 games will be shown on their subscription channels.^[4]

Title Sponsorship Rights

Indian real estate developer DLF Universal secured exclusive rights to the Indian Premier League title sponsorship worth INR 200 crore (over US$50 million) for five years.

The magnitude of the Indian Premier League was confirmed when the winning bidders for the eight franchises were announced on January 24, 2008.^[5] While the total base price for auction was US$400 million, the auction fetched US$723.59 million.^[6] The official list of franchise owners announced and the winning bids were as follows.

Jodhaa-Akbar (Hindi: जोधा-अकबर, Urdu: جودھا اکبر) is a film released on February 15, 2008. It is directed and produced by Ashutosh Gowariker, the director of the Academy Award-nominated Lagaan (2001). It stars Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles. This film also marks the debut of newcomer Abir Abrar. Extensive research went into the making of this film which begun shooting at Karjat.

The film centers around the romance between the Muslim Mughal Emperor Akbar, played by Hrithik Roshan and his Hindu wife, Jodhabai, played by Aishwarya Rai. The music is composed by acclaimed music composer A. R. Rahman. The soundtrack of the movie was released on January 19, 2008.

Synopsis

Jodhaa Akbar is a sixteenth century love story about a marriage of alliance that gave birth to true love between a great Mughal emperor, Akbar, and a Rajput princess, Jodhaa.

Political success knew no bounds for Emperor Akbar (Hrithik Roshan). After having secured the Hindu Kush, he furthered his realm by conquest until his empire extended from Afghanistan to the Bay of Bengal, and from the Himalayas to the Godavari River. Through a shrewd blend of diplomacy, intimidation and brute force , Akbar won the allegiance of the Rajputs. But little did Akbar know that when he married Jodhaa (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), a fiery Rajput princess, in order to further strengthen his relations with the Rajputs, he would in turn be embarking upon a new journey – the journey of true love.

The daughter of King Bharmal of Amer, Jodhaa resented being reduced to a mere political pawn in this marriage of alliance, and Akbar’s biggest challenge now did not merely lie in winning battles, but in winning the love of Jodhaa – a love hidden deep below resentment and extreme prejudice. Jodhaa-Akbar is their untold love story.

Production

Ashutosh Gowariker hired a research team of historians and scholars from New Delhi, Aligarh, Lucknow, Agra and Jaipur to guide him on this film and help him keep things historically accurate. He clarified that the name of the film remains Jodhaa-Akbar, and not Akbar-Jodhaa as reported by sections of the media. Over 80 elephants, 100 horses and 55 camels were used in the movie. Name Of Main Titled “Azeem O Shan, Shahenshah”, the song featured about one thousand dancers in traditional costumes, wielding swords and shields at a grand location in Karjat. The budget was about 37 crore Rupees (approx 7.42 million USD).

The first television promo was aired on 9th December, 2007.

The movie used over 400 kg of gold jewelery made by Tanishq.

Reception

[1]The film has been received well at US and UK box-office. The film has grossed $1.3 million dollars in the first weekend in the North American box office. But, the film has received a below average reception at the Indian box office.

[2]Hindustan Times, a leading Indian newspaper gave the movie 2 stars. Khalid Mohammed, reviewer for the paper calling, "Like it or not Ashutosh Gowariker, who is normally a fine and conscientious director, has miscalculated the technical logistics and emotional content of a period piece. Crucial detailing isn’t the virtue here."

[3]AOL India (Noyon Jyoti Parasara) gave it four stars, saying " Ashutosh Gowariker has proved that he is one of the best filmmakers we have today. While your heart goes for the love between the two protagonists, the film leaves you at such heights of emotions that you would literally be shaking with excitement! The film also comes at a very right time as Akbar indeed could be a role model for people and rulers today. The king not only had a secular vision, but also a will to know what the common man wanted, apart from being kind hearted and noble,"
