NUCLEAR WEAPON

The World War II has brought out the effects of Atom Bomb to limelight. It is a very dangerous weapon made up of nuclear material so it is considered as a nuclear weapon.A nuclear weapon is a weapon that derives its energy from nuclear reactions and has enormous destructive power—even the smallest nuclear weapons are much more powerful than most conventional explosives, while the largest can destroy entire metropolitan regions. First developed during World War II, they continue to have a strong presence in our world today.

The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were nuclear attacks at the end of World War II against the Empire of Japan by the United States at the order of U.S. President Harry S. Truman on August 6 and 9, 1945. After six months of intense firebombing of 67 other Japanese cities, the nuclear weapon "Little Boy" was dropped on the city of Hiroshima on Monday, August 6, 1945, followed on August 9 by the detonation of the "Fat Man" nuclear bomb over Nagasaki

I-PHONE RETAINS ITS ALLURE AMONG CUSTOMERS:

Before going in to Iphone's new 3G dimension let us see how its technology created allure among customers. Bradley Wilson was one of thousands who lined up to buy the iPhone the day it went on sale in June 2007. He's ready to camp out again next month when Apple Inc starts selling a faster, cheaper model. This model is expected to usurb the sales of the Iphone.
A year after entering the mobile-phone market, Apple Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs aims to win customers with a $199 handset as competitors including Samsung Electronics Co. begin touting less-expensive ``iPhone killers.'' Early iPhone users, some of whom paid as much as $599 for the Web-surfing device, said they will be among the first to buy.
``I'm stoked about the price drop and understand Apple's desire to get the iPhone into as many hands as possible,'' said Wilson of Alexandria, Virginia, a staffer at National Geographic. He says he may give his old model to the family member who begs the most. ``I would pay the price I paid last year again if I had to do it over -- it's been worth every penny.''
After the touch-screen phone debuted last June 29, Apple sold more than 6 million before running out in May. Devotees like Wilson and new converts may help Jobs sell 10 million this year, giving Apple 1 percent of the global market. Industry leader Nokia Oyj sold 435.5 million phones in 2007, Gartner Inc. said.
The new iPhone 3G, which runs on speedier third-generation wireless networks, will include a global positioning system, download Internet content twice as fast as the old model and support business e-mail systems when it goes on sale July 11.

STRUGGLE FOR USB 3.0

USB's evolution has hit our doorsteps.Starting from a mp4 watch to a printer including a mobile phone is using USB's technology to provide a userfriendly service for the customers.Even though the USB 3.0 standard, with transmission speeds nearing 5Gbit/s (600MB/s), has not yet matured and is not expected until 2009 or 2010, technology leaders Intel, AMD, and nVidia are battling to take the lead on the USB 3.0 specifications.
The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) was founded in 1995 by Intel, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Texas Instruments, NEC, and NXP Semiconductors. These companies are also promoting the new standard of USB 3.0.
But AMD, nVidia, and VIA Technologies have jointly made an attempt to develop another "USB 3.0" standard to compete with Intel. The opportunity arose because Intel has yet to release their standard for USB 3.0.
"If the USB 3.0 have two different standards in the future, the consumer will be the greatest loser in this 'standard' battle. As of this issue, we [the Federal Trade Commission] decided to investigate Intel on monopolizing the specification of USB 3.0 and hope this conflict can be smoothly solved." said the Federal Trade Commission in a statement.
Nick Knupffer, a spokesperson for Intel, claimed that Intel will release related technical specifications on USB 3.0 for the Information Technology industry to prevent unnecessary conflicts on standards and specifications.

SHOCKING NEWS FROM NASA:

We have read about many articles regarding the researchs done by the astranauts on mars. The scientists behind the Mars Phoenix Lander project announced that the soil on Mars was more alkaline than expected and could sustain life. This finding has surprised many people and has become a great boon to Nasa's data base.
Scientists at NASA or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration claimed that they were "flabbergasted" by their discovery on the possibility that life could grow on Martian soil.

"It is the type of soil you would probably have in your back yard, you know, alkaline. You might be able to grow asparagus in it really well. ... It is very exciting for us," said Sam Kounaves, the lead wet chemist at NASA.
The project did not elaborate any further if there was indeed life on Mars, down to the microbe level and instead stated that their discovery was only preliminary and more analysis will be needed.
There was still no evidence in the soil that "would preclude life," and instead of an assumption of a toxic environment, Martian soil is actually, "very friendly."
The discovery was made after the Mars Phoenix Lander scooped up Martian soil for analysis. The lander touched down on Mars on May 25, 2008 and has been conducting several survey projects.
